# Software Licensing

Software Licensing has been built specifically for WordPress plugin and theme authors. It would be better to use [Paddle's own SDKs](https://developer.paddle.com/reference/sdks) for mac and windows apps.

## 1) Enable Software Licensing

## 2) Enable Software Licensing for Membership

License key generation works automatically once someone purchases a product. You just need to enable license creation and set an activation limit. (Enter 0 for unlimited licensing)

It worth creating separate membership plans for each paddle subscription plan if you have a plan to restrict domain counts.

The license key will be available on the accounts page. Also, it can be sent via email once the purchase completed.
