## Privacy-first default

Logging is disabled by default for privacy.

You can enable only the level of visibility you need.

## Logging options

The `Monitoring` tab lets you control what is recorded.

### Available logging controls

- Enable security logging
- Log IP addresses
- Log user agents
- Enable country detection
- Set log retention

## What can be tracked

Depending on your settings, SessionQuota Pro can help you review:

- Logins
- Blocked logins
- Session terminations
- Device and browser data
- IP-based country changes

## Country detection

Country detection can use available geolocation data when configured.

This may include:

- A local MaxMind GeoLite2 database
- Existing WooCommerce MaxMind geolocation data
- Cloudflare country headers when available

## Alerting options

Alerts help you spot suspicious session behavior more quickly.

### Available alert types

- Alert when blocked login activity crosses a threshold
- Alert on country change

### Delivery options

- Dashboard notices
- Email notifications

## Suggested starting configuration

For most sites, start with:

- Logging enabled
- IP logging enabled
- User agent logging enabled
- A sensible retention period
- Blocked-login alerts enabled

Then add country detection if your environment supports it.

## Best practices

- Keep retention only as long as your policies require
- Enable email alerts for high-value membership or ecommerce sites
- Review logs regularly after changing enforcement rules
- Make sure your team understands which fields are considered personal data in your jurisdiction
