Handywriter is an AI-powered writing assistant that can help you create unique content effortlessly within WordPress. It’s a great tool for WordPress users of all levels, from beginners to professionals. All good inventions have a small story behind them, and it all started with this tweet: What if I build a WordPress plugin that combines Grammarly and AI writer tools 🤔I've checked some plugins already but they are giving a poor UX. I'd like to see deeper level integration with WP, (eg: creating the content through a custom block)— Mustafa Uysal (@m_uysl) May 25, 2022 Thirteen votes are not too meaningful for the Twitter poll; however, it would be something to make my life easier, and if it solves my problem, it can help others too. right? ~5 months later, Handywriter is a fully functional writing assistant. How can Handywriter help you create better content? AI-Powered writing tools are pretty popular nowadays and are here to stay for the foreseeable future. This is because AI can help improve the accuracy and quality of writing and can also help save time. Here are a few features of Handywriter that will save you time. Suggest a Title You didn’t like the current title? Or looking for something more engaging? Handywriter will create new title suggestions. Write a Post Click on the “Write a Post” button right after entering the post title. Handywriter will try its best to complete a blog post for you on a given topic. It is sort of Google’s “I’m Feeling Lucky” button for content generation. Create a Summary & Meta Description Summarize your content and append it to the end of the blog post or get a meta description for SEO purposes. Plagiarism Checker Handywriter will help you to find any instances of plagiarism in your post so that you can fix them before publishing and be sure about the originality of the content. Content Templates Content templates are an excellent way to create content that you need on a regular basis quickly. Whether it’s call-to-action buttons, ad copies, or case studies… they can save you time. Check out the features page to learn more about all features. What does Handywriter different? Editor Integration I think the biggest advantage of Handywriter is that it’s directly integrated into WordPress editor. Whether you are using a block editor or a classic editor, it’s there, and you don’t have to leave your WordPress editor while working on new content. It might be a small detail, and some users aren’t get bothered to copy/paste content. However, it leads to distraction and poor writing experience. Handywriter aims to provide a “nativelike” WordPress experience while using it. Promptless AI-based content generators often ask for too many details. Sometimes the “actual” output is shorter than all the information you provided in the prompt. On the other hand, Handywriter gets the needed data from the WordPress editor directly. Eg, if you click on the “Suggest a Title” button, it will directly suggest an engaging title based on the current title you are using. Designed to Assist It is designed to be an “assistant” and save your time while writing in WordPress explicitly. For instance, enter the next blog topic and hit on the “write a post” button. The final result might not be exactly what you want to see, but you can start editing existing content right away. More Than AI… Handywriter does not only help to create content. It also provides a grammar fixer and plagiarism checker to ensure that your content is original. (I have to admit that the grammar fixer is not powerful as Grammarly – yet – but it still helps to prevent obvious mistakes.) If you’re looking for a way to create better, faster, and effortless content for your website, Handywriter is the perfect solution. You can give it a try by choosing the best plan that suits you and then install & activate our WordPress plugin. #### Introducing “Easy Text-to-Speech”: Making Voice Generation Effortless with our Brand New WordPress Plugin Today, we’re absolutely thrilled to announce the launch of our latest innovation – “Easy Text-to-Speech,” a powerful yet user-friendly WordPress plugin that’s all set to revolutionize the way you interact with your website visitors. This innovative tool is designed to make the management of your “security.txt” file as easy as pie, right from the comfort of your WordPress dashboard. What exactly is a “security.txt” file? It’s a proposed standard that allows websites to define their security policies. In essence, this file communicates your security policy and contact information to security researchers, making it one of the most critical files on any site. Creating a Security Policy You can create security.txt content on the https://securitytxt.org/ , and paste the generated content into the plugin settings. The plugin handles both “.well-known/security.txt” and “security.txt” requests and shows your security.txt content there. Use case with Multisite The Security txt Manager plugin is compatible with multisite WordPress installations. However, please note that if you are using a subfolder installation, it will only work for the main site. This is because a given domain or subdomain can only have one “security.txt” file according to the security.txt specification. (See the spec) Technical Requirements Before diving into the world of Security txt Manager, please ensure your setup meets the following requirements: PHP 7.2 or higher WordPress 5.7 or higher Enabled rewrites: without them, WordPress cannot supply “/security.txt” or “.well-known/security.txt” when requested A site URL without a path (e.g., “https://example.com” rather than “https://example.com/site”) – https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9116#section-3.1 We invite you to give Security txt Manager a try and share your experiences with us. We are looking forward to seeing the positive impact this plugin will have on the WordPress community. Let’s enhance our website security together! #### Introducing SessionQuota: Concurrent Login Control for WordPress If you run a membership site, online course platform, WooCommerce store, or any kind of user-based system, you’ve probably seen this before. One account gets used across multiple devices. Paid access gets shared more than intended. Old sessions stay active longer than they should. Users get confused about where they are still logged in, and admins end up dealing with support requests that should never have existed in the first place. Session management becomes messy very quickly. That is exactly why SessionQuota exists. SessionQuota is a WordPress plugin designed to help you control concurrent logins, limit active sessions, and reduce account sharing while keeping things simple for both site owners and users. Why Session Management Matters For many WordPress sites, session control is not just a technical detail. It directly affects revenue, security, and overall user experience. Without proper control, you may run into issues like shared membership accounts, uncontrolled access to paid content, too many active sessions per user, and limited visibility into login activity. Over time, this turns into unnecessary support overhead and a frustrating experience for legitimate users. SessionQuota focuses on solving these problems in a practical and predictable way. Start with SessionQuota Free If you’re looking for a simple way to limit concurrent sessions in WordPress, SessionQuota Free is the easiest place to start. The free version allows you to set a global session limit and define how that limit is enforced. This gives you a straightforward way to reduce account sharing and introduce basic concurrent login control without adding complexity. For many sites, this alone is enough to make a noticeable difference. You can download SessionQuota Free from WordPress.org and start using it right away. Upgrade to SessionQuota Pro When You Need More Control As your site grows, session management usually becomes more complex. You may want to apply different rules to different users, offer better recovery options when session limits are reached, or give users the ability to manage their own sessions without contacting support. This is where SessionQuota Pro comes in. SessionQuota Pro builds on the free version and adds more flexibility, better user experience, and stronger operational tools for sites that need more than a single global rule. What You Get with SessionQuota Pro SessionQuota Pro allows you to move beyond basic limits and build a more structured session management system. Advanced session limit rules Instead of relying on a single global setting, you can define more flexible policies using role-based session limits, membership-based limits, and per-user overrides. A clear priority system ensures that these rules work together without conflicts. This makes it possible to handle different user types cleanly, without workarounds. Better frontend user experience Instead of forcing users to contact support every time they hit a session limit, SessionQuota Pro can help them manage sessions on their own. Pro features include: Frontend active session management Logout-from-other-devices controls Account dashboard integrations Session shortcodes for custom pages Blocked login email recovery This is especially useful for membership and course sites where users often switch devices. More powerful admin tools For site owners and teams, SessionQuota Pro adds tools that make session management easier to operate at scale. You can force logout for specific users, trigger site-wide logout actions, export and import settings, and use WP-CLI commands for automation. Multisite environments are supported, and monitoring or alert options help you keep track of session activity. SessionQuota Free vs Pro Here is the simplest way to think about it: Use SessionQuota Free if you want: A simple global session limit Basic concurrent login control An easy way to reduce account sharing Use SessionQuota Pro if you want: Role-based or membership-based limits Per-user overrides Frontend session controls Better recovery options for blocked users Monitoring, alerts, and advanced admin tools WP-CLI and multisite support In other words, the free version helps you get started, and the Pro version helps you build a full session management policy around your business. Built for Membership, Ecommerce, and Access-Controlled Sites SessionQuota is especially useful for membership websites, online course platforms, premium content sites, WooCommerce customer areas, communities, and protected portals. If your site depends on controlled access and fair usage, having clear session limits and better visibility into active logins becomes essential. A Better Upgrade Path SessionQuota is designed to be useful from day one. The free version provides real value and solves a real problem, without feeling limited or restricted. When you need more advanced policies, better user experience, and stronger operational tools, SessionQuota Pro becomes the natural next step. This makes it easier to adopt, easier to test, and easier to scale as your site grows. Get Started Today If you want a cleaner way to control concurrent logins in WordPress and reduce account sharing, SessionQuota gives you a solid foundation. Start with SessionQuota Free and upgrade to SessionQuota Pro when you need more control, flexibility, and visibility. Download SessionQuota Free on WordPress.org Upgrade to SessionQuota Pro #### Introducing Stream Integration Pro: A Modern Cloudflare Stream WordPress Plugin for Serious Video Workflows Video in WordPress sounds simple until your files get bigger, your library gets crowded, and your hosting bill starts carrying the weight. I’ve seen how quickly it becomes a bottleneck once you start publishing at scale. For many site owners, what begins as a straightforward upload process quickly turns into a constant battle with storage limits, upload timeouts, bandwidth usage, playback performance, and messy video management. That is exactly why I built Stream Integration Pro, a premium Cloudflare Stream WordPress plugin designed for modern WordPress workflows. Stream Integration Pro helps you use Cloudflare Stream in WordPress in a way that feels native, practical, and production-ready. Whether you run a membership site, online course platform, publisher, agency, or content-heavy business, it gives you a better way to offload WordPress videos and manage them with far more control. Video Hosting in WordPress Gets Hard Fast WordPress is excellent at managing content, but video creates a different kind of operational burden. As video files grow, so do the problems around them. Large uploads can fail because of server limits or PHP timeouts. Media libraries become harder to manage. Local storage fills up faster than expected. Bandwidth usage increases. Playback delivery becomes a performance issue instead of a simple media task. And once a site starts publishing video regularly, those small pain points turn into real workflow friction. This is especially true for teams managing a lot of content. If you are working with lessons, webinars, premium media, product videos, tutorials, interviews, or editorial content, native WordPress video hosting can become expensive, inefficient, and difficult to scale. That is where a dedicated WordPress video hosting workflow becomes necessary. Why Cloudflare Stream Is a Smart Solution Cloudflare Stream is a strong fit for WordPress users who want a better way to handle video delivery without building a custom system around it. Instead of relying fully on your WordPress server for storage and playback, Cloudflare Stream is built to handle the heavy lifting around video processing and delivery. That reduces the operational burden on your site and gives you a more scalable path for publishing video content. For WordPress users, this matters for a few practical reasons. First, it helps reduce pressure on your own hosting environment. You are no longer trying to make your web server act like a dedicated video platform. Second, it improves delivery. Video playback is one of the most bandwidth-intensive parts of many websites, and moving that responsibility to a purpose-built service can make a meaningful difference. Third, it creates a cleaner path for scaling. If your site is growing, or you already manage lots of media, using Cloudflare Stream for WordPress is often much more sustainable than keeping everything local. In other words, it is not just about hosting a few MP4 files. It is about improving video delivery for WordPress in a way that is easier to manage long term. A Cloudflare Stream WordPress Plugin Built for Real Workflows There have been options in this space before, which is helpful because it shows the need is real. But many serious WordPress users need something more complete, more current, and better aligned with how sites are actually managed today. Stream Integration Pro was built with that in mind. It is actively maintained, designed for modern WordPress workflows, and focused on solving real production use cases instead of just covering the basics. Rather than treating Cloudflare Stream as a disconnected external service, the plugin brings it into familiar WordPress interfaces so site owners and teams can work more naturally. That includes stronger WordPress media library Cloudflare Stream workflows, support for direct uploads, reverse sync, WP-CLI, multisite, and flexible hybrid storage options depending on how you want your media stack to work. The goal is simple: give WordPress users better operational control without adding more complexity to their workflow. What Stream Integration Pro Helps You Do Stream Integration Pro is not just a connector. It acts as a full workflow layer between WordPress and Cloudflare Stream. You can upload videos from the WordPress Media Library to Cloudflare Stream when you want to offload existing assets. This is especially useful for sites that already have a local library and want to reduce storage or delivery pressure over time. You can also send videos directly to Cloudflare Stream, which helps avoid the pain that often comes with large video uploads in WordPress. Instead of forcing every file through a purely local workflow, you can move toward a more efficient publishing process from the start. If you already use Cloudflare Stream outside WordPress, Stream Integration Pro can import your existing videos into WordPress so your content library stays organized and visible where your team already works. And when needed, you are not locked into a single storage model. You can restore or download local copies, keep both local and Stream versions, work in a stream-only mode, or choose a local-first workflow. That flexibility matters because not every site has the same operational needs. Built for Better Media Management One of the biggest frustrations with many video tools is that they feel bolted on rather than built in. Stream Integration Pro is designed to feel like part of WordPress. It includes Media Library actions and filters that make it easier to manage video content at scale. That means less switching between systems and more visibility inside the dashboard your team already knows. Using Stream Integration Pro in the Classic Editor It also supports both the block editor and classic editor, so you are not forced into a new editing model just to use the plugin. Whether your site is fully modernized or still relies on older editorial workflows, the plugin fits into the environment you already have. For teams that publish frequently, this kind of workflow polish matters just as much as raw feature count. More Control for Production Use Cases Many WordPress video plugins focus on the basic connection layer. Stream Integration Pro goes further by giving site owners and teams the control they need for real operational use. The video is not sped up. The sample file is approximately 300 MB, so the process reflects real-world performance. WP-CLI support makes it easier to handle bulk tasks, automation, and developer workflows. That is a major advantage for agencies and advanced site owners who want to manage media more efficiently. Multisite support is also built in, which is important for organizations managing multiple sites under one WordPress network. The plugin also supports local-plus-stream, stream-only, and local-first workflows. That means you can shape the media pipeline around your business model instead of forcing your business into a rigid media workflow. For teams that need to offload WordPress videos while keeping editorial and operational flexibility, this is a much better fit than a one-size-fits-all tool. Who Stream Integration Pro Is For Stream Integration Pro is built for WordPress users who have already felt the pain of video at scale. It is a strong fit for site owners who publish educational or premium video content and need a more reliable WordPress video plugin workflow. It is valuable for membership and course businesses that want smoother handling of lessons, training videos, and gated content. It is useful for publishers and media teams that manage lots of video assets and want better organization inside WordPress. It is also a practical option for agencies supporting client sites where storage usage, bandwidth costs, and upload reliability can quickly become support issues. And for anyone tired of clunky video workflows, failed uploads, and oversized media libraries, it offers a cleaner path forward. Built for Teams That Need More Than a Basic Integration Cloudflare’s official Cloudflare Stream Video plugin helped establish the foundation for using Cloudflare Stream with WordPress. At the same time, its WordPress.org listing shows it was last updated 4 years ago and notes that it may no longer be maintained or supported. The current plugin also appears focused primarily on block editor usage, with a narrower feature set than many production WordPress sites need today. Based on the listing and user feedback, areas like broader Media Library workflows, classic editor support, and more flexible operational tooling remain limited. Stream Integration Pro is built to serve those broader needs. It brings Cloudflare Stream into native WordPress workflows more completely, with support for direct uploads, Media Library actions and filters, reverse sync, local restore options, WP-CLI, multisite support, and flexible hybrid workflows for teams managing video seriously inside WordPress. The result is a more complete solution for site owners who want to use Cloudflare Stream in WordPress in a practical, scalable way. Why This Matters for Growing WordPress Sites When video becomes central to your content strategy, the problem is no longer just embedding a player. It becomes a question of how you will manage storage, bandwidth, uploads, playback, workflow, and scale over time. That is why many teams eventually look to WordPress video hosting alternatives and explore ways to offload WordPress videos from their primary server environment. Cloudflare Stream reduces much of that operational burden. Stream Integration Pro brings that value into native WordPress workflows so site owners do not have to choose between a better video stack and a manageable editorial process. You get the benefits of Cloudflare Stream with the usability of WordPress. Stream Integration Pro Is Available Now If your site is struggling with large uploads, media bloat, bandwidth pressure, or fragmented video workflows, Stream Integration Pro was built for exactly that problem. It gives you a practical way to use Cloudflare Stream inside WordPress with better Media Library integration, direct uploads, reverse sync, flexible storage workflows, block and classic editor support, WP-CLI, multisite support, and more. If you have been looking for a Cloudflare Stream WordPress plugin that feels actively maintained, complete, and ready for real-world use, Stream Integration Pro is here. Explore Stream Integration Pro and see how much easier video management in WordPress can be when the workflow is built for modern publishing. #### Introducing the WP Accessibility Toolkit – Your WordPress Accessibility Companion! Magic Login 1.1 has been released. In this release, we are happy to introduce shortcode support. You can use the login from anywhere on your website by simply adding the magic_login_form shortcode. It works perfectly with any theme and of course, you can customize it through custom CSS. Customizations The form submits to the same page as it added and the target URL can be customizable via magic_login_shortcode_form_action hook. In terms of the front-end customizations, it works great with default themes that we tested, but if you need customizations you can use #magic-login-shortcode id for custom CSS. Changelog: Tested against WP 5.8 (yep, it’s still early for WP 5.8)Shortcode support added!Improved plugin deactivation with manual upload/activate process. Cheers, #### Magic Login 1.2: Login Block Magic Login 1.2 was released today and contains a brand new login block to provide more flexibility to use and customize the login form. Login Block The new login block allows customizing almost everything with the form without extra effort. As we have announced at the prior release shortcode is still there and you don’t have to change anything to keep using it. The blocks are just much more convenient and easy to use. In order to add a login block to your page, just type /magic in the block editor and see the magic happening or alternatively, you can choose it from the UI or search. Better Lifespan Management We have removed 1-60 minute restriction from the token lifespan, still encourage to use shorter TTL. However, this responsibility belongs to the website owner and is free to customize lifespan. If you want to keep the token alive till it is used, just enter 0 as TTL, in that case, WP-Cron won’t set up a clean-up task and the users will be able to log in whenever they want. Changelog: New: Magic Login Block – It’s much easier to add and customize the login form in the block editor.Customizable token intervals added. (removed 1-60 minutes restriction)New placeholder added: {{EXPIRES_WITH_INTERVAL}} to display TTL with the interval.Updated Shared UIImproved documentation on the settings page.New: Show an error message when the user doesn’t exist.New filter: Added magic_login_invalid_token_error_message to customize error message. #### Magic Login 1.3 Magic Login 1.3 is out today! Sometimes this could be handy if you want to keep the outgoing mail in plain text and maybe format it in an email template later. Fix email title HTML escaping. This release brings a few security fixes and enhancements. Here are brief details about this release; Keep token data hashed. In prior versions, the login token was stored plain as usermeta. With this update, the existing tokens will not update; please keep this in mind.Retrieving Client IP without respecting HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR : Magic Login Pro has functionality that limits the login attempt for the IP address to mitigate DOS attacks. Since HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR can be easily spoofed, we have removed the support for HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR header. If your WordPress setup is behind on a proxy, you can use magic_login_client_ip filter to trust allowed proxies and correct the IP address of the client.Username-only mode: You can define ( ‘MAGIC_LOGIN_USERNAME_ONLY’, true ); to accept login requests by username only. Better HTML detection before adding line breaks: If you are adding a custom template for the email, automatic line breaks will not mess up your template.Email Subject: Pro users can setup the email subject on the settings page.Small tweaks & fixes Thanks to @snicco for reporting security issues. We’re excited to bring you these fresh features that are set to enrich your website’s user experience even further. Focusing on convenience and customization, this update builds on the strong foundation of Magic Login, simplifying the login process for your users and providing you with increased control over your site’s login dynamics. The Magic of {{MAGIC_LINK}} In the pursuit of making user access as frictionless as possible, we’ve rolled out an exciting feature: the {{MAGIC_LINK}} placeholder. Now, all outgoing emails delivered to a single user via the WordPress wp_mail function can include a personalized magic link. This means no more forgotten passwords or tedious reset processes—just one click, and your users are where they need to be. It works similar to the Auto Login Links feature that we have introduced in version 1.6. It will give you more flexibility when you need to add a direct login link for your users. Personalization at Its Best We understand the importance of a personal touch, which is why we’re introducing additional placeholders to customize your emails even further. With {{FIRST_NAME}}, {{LAST_NAME}}, {{FULL_NAME}}, {{DISPLAY_NAME}}, and {{USER_EMAIL}}, you can ensure that each communication feels like it’s made just for the recipient, increasing engagement and trust. Streamlined User Interface The login form now features an ajax spinner, providing immediate visual feedback when users sign in. This small yet significant tweak improves the overall experience by reassuring users that their login request is being processed smoothly. Under the Hood Improvements We’ve also performed critical dependency updates, ensuring that Magic Login remains compatible with the latest web technologies and security standards. Meanwhile, minor adjustments to the settings form enhance usability, allowing site administrators to manage login settings with greater ease. Magic Login 2.0 and Magic Login PRO are more than just updates—they’re transformative tools that redefine how users interact with your WordPress site. By streamlining the login process and adding a layer of personalization to user communications, we’re committed to making sure that your website stands out in a sea of digital experiences. Upgrade to the new Magic Login and watch your user engagement soar. #### Magic Login 2.1: WooCommerce Integration, Shortcode Flexibility, and Refined Redirection I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Magic Login 2.1, a significant upgrade for both Magic Login and Magic Login PRO. This release introduces a suite of enhancements and new features aimed at refining your WordPress experience, making it more user-friendly and integrated than ever. WooCommerce Integration with Magic Login For Magic Login PRO users, we’re excited to unveil our integration with WooCommerce, offering a seamless checkout experience for your customers. This integration marries the simplicity of Magic Login with WooCommerce’s robust capabilities, ensuring a smooth login process that enhances the shopping journey. Enable WooCommerce integration by toggling the option and choosing whether you want to display the magic login form before or after the WooCommerce standard login form. You can learn more from our documentation about this brand new feature – https://handyplugins.co/magic-login-pro/docs/woocommerce-integration/ Enforced Redirection Rules Magic Login PRO offers advanced redirection features, such as role-based redirection or redirecting users to a specific page. However, this feature is perhaps the most misunderstood by our users. I’ve responded to numerous support emails regarding the confusion between the redirect_to parameter and redirection settings. In essence, if the login URL includes a targeted redirect_to parameter, Magic Login gives priority to that URL, regardless of the settings you’ve specified. This is due to the default shortcode/block attributes setting the default redirection URL to the page where the shortcode/block was added. I initially set it this way because I believed that smart defaults are crucial for user experience. For example, if you add a magic login form to WooCommerce’s “my-account” page, you’d likely prefer to redirect users back to the “my-account” page rather than to wp-admin or elsewhere, right? However, I’ve learned the hard way that this isn’t always the “right” approach. Users often want to adhere to the redirection rules they’ve set. While shortcode/block-based configuration offers flexibility, it doesn’t suit all scenarios. Therefore, I’m pleased to introduce a new redirection option that enforces backend redirection rules. This option is enabled by default to avoid altering the workflow of existing installations; it will automatically be turned off for existing users. This approach ensures that the update won’t affect current workflows and will prevent misunderstandings for new installations. More Flexible Shortcodes We’ve expanded the capabilities of our shortcodes, introducing new attributes that offer customization akin to block usage. Despite the advantages of blocks, many users remain loyal to page builders and have expressed a need for more customizable options, including messages, button text, and labels. Now, you have the freedom to tailor the Magic Login form to your preferences, including the addition of custom classes. Discover the expanded possibilities in our updated shortcode documentation. nG Firewall Compatibility In this version, the redirect_to parameter is encoded, enhancing compatibility with nG firewalls. This encoding is not only a security measure but also ensures smoother integration with custom query strings. Further information on this enhancement is available in our new nG Firewall documentation. A Step Forward in Login Experience With Magic Login 2.1, our aim is to empower you with tools that make managing your WordPress site more intuitive and efficient. Whether it’s enhancing the e-commerce experience with WooCommerce integration, providing more control over user navigation, or making shortcodes more adaptable, this update is about elevating your WordPress management game. I am incredibly excited for you to experience the enhancements that Magic Login 2.1 brings to the table. Your feedback has been invaluable in shaping this update, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences with these new features. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your continued support and trust in Magic Login. Here’s to making your WordPress experience better, one login at a time 🙂 Cheers, #### Magic Login 2.2: New Registration and Spam Protection Features! I’m excited to announce the release of Magic Login Pro 2.2, featuring powerful new registration capabilities and enhanced spam protection to make your login process smoother and more secure than ever. Magic Registration One of the most anticipated features, the registration functionality, is now included in Magic Login Pro 2.2. Users can seamlessly register on your site, making it easier for them to access and engage with your content. Three Registration Modes Magic Login Pro 2.2 offers three versatile registration modes to cater to different needs. 1) Automatic registration With automatic registration mode, users are not interrupted when trying to log in. If the email address isn’t registered, an account will be automatically created. Since Magic Login works with both email and username, you may want to show a small registration form for the user’s email address when they enter an invalid email address or username. Magic Login Pro lets you choose whether to display this form or skip the registration process. 2) Standard Registration Standard registration collects basic user details and works seamlessly with the magic login form. If a user’s email doesn’t match any existing accounts when requesting a login link, they will see the registration form next. In this mode, you can ask for the user’s first and last name and require them to accept the terms and conditions before registering. 3) Registration with Shortcode For a registration process independent of the magic login, use the third option. Simply use the registration shortcode and attributes to display the registration form. Spam Protection When you make registration process easier for the users, sometimes spammers try to get advantage of that by spamming those forms. So we have carefully planned the spam protection to safeguard both login and registration forms. reCAPTCHA Integration Magic Login Pro 2.2 includes robust reCAPTCHA integration to protect your site from spam and automated abuse. Users can choose between: reCAPTCHA v2: Traditional challenge-response test. reCAPTCHA v2 Invisible: Does not prompt users with challenges like identifying traffic lights. reCAPTCHA v3: Runs in the background to detect bots without disrupting the user experience. For more details on how to implement reCAPTCHA with Magic Login, check out our Spam Protection Guide. Cloudflare Turnstile Integration In addition to reCAPTCHA, we’ve added support for Cloudflare Turnstile. This tool provides an additional layer of protection against bots and spam, ensuring that your site remains secure while maintaining a smooth user experience. This release focuses on improving spam protection, privacy, and overall resilience for passwordless authentication on WordPress sites. The update introduces Friendly Captcha integration, improves privacy by loading fonts locally, and adds several hardening and abuse-prevention improvements to the login system. If you run a membership site, WooCommerce store, or any site using passwordless login, Magic Login Pro 2.7 helps make login flows more reliable while maintaining the smooth user experience that magic links are known for. What’s New in Magic Login Pro 2.7 Magic Login Pro 2.7 includes improvements in three main areas: Friendly Captcha support for modern spam protection Privacy improvements through local asset loading Security hardening and abuse prevention for login flows These updates help keep your WordPress passwordless login plugin reliable in real-world environments where login forms often face automated abuse attempts. Friendly Captcha Support for Spam Protection Magic Login Pro 2.7 introduces support for Friendly Captcha, a privacy-focused CAPTCHA solution designed to block automated abuse without relying on invasive tracking. This provides site owners with another modern option for protecting login and registration flows. It is now available as an additional spam protection option alongside the existing captcha integrations supported by Magic Login. Improved Privacy with Local Font Loading Magic Login Pro now loads its fonts locally instead of relying on remote font delivery. Previously, fonts could be served via a CDN (admin settings only). With version 2.7, the plugin serves these assets directly from the site itself. This change helps improve: Privacy and GDPR-conscious deployments Reliability when external resources are blocked Consistency in login page asset loading For site owners who prioritize privacy-friendly WordPress setups, this update reduces external dependencies in the login experience. Security Hardening and Abuse Prevention In addition to the visible improvements, Magic Login Pro 2.7 also includes several security hardening updates to strengthen passwordless login flows. These updates are designed to improve resilience against automated abuse while keeping login experiences smooth for legitimate users. Improvements in this release Added nonce validation for AJAX-based login requests Added final redirect validation for both standard and AJAX login flows Improved randomness used for generated email login codes Added a per-user safeguard to limit repeated login emails To help prevent automated abuse, a safe hourly limit of 60 login emails per user is now applied by default. These measures help ensure secure magic login links remain reliable even on high-traffic sites where login systems may be targeted by bots or automated tools. Why This Matters for WordPress Site Owners Passwordless authentication continues to gain popularity because it simplifies login experiences and removes password friction for users. However, real-world login systems must also address challenges such as: Automated login abuse CAPTCHA compatibility with dynamic forms Privacy and external asset dependencies Secure redirect handling Magic Login Pro 2.7 helps address these concerns while keeping the user experience simple. For WooCommerce stores, membership sites, communities, and SaaS-style WordPress applications, these improvements help ensure your login system stays: Easy for users Reliable across AJAX login flows Better protected against automated abuse More privacy-conscious Update to Magic Login Pro 2.7 If you’re already using Magic Login Pro, we recommend updating to Magic Login Pro 2.7 to benefit from the latest improvements in spam protection, privacy, and login reliability. You can update directly from your WordPress dashboard or download the latest version from your account. #### Magic Login 2.8: Native Honeypot Protection for Passwordless WordPress Login Magic Login 2.8 introduces native honeypot protection for passwordless WordPress login forms, helping site owners reduce automated login requests without adding CAPTCHA friction for real users. Passwordless login should stay simple: enter an email address, receive a secure magic link, and sign in. But public login forms can still attract automated submissions, fake requests, and bot traffic. With Magic Login 2.8, both Magic Login and Magic Login Pro now include a built-in honeypot layer designed to quietly catch common automated form submissions before they trigger unnecessary login emails. Native Honeypot Protection The highlight of Magic Login 2.8 is native honeypot protection. When enabled, Magic Login adds hidden-field and timing checks to supported forms. Real users do not see anything new and do not need to solve a challenge. Bots, however, often submit forms too quickly, miss required hidden payloads, or fill fields that should remain empty. This gives site owners a lightweight first layer of protection without requiring an external CAPTCHA service. Less Friction for Real Users CAPTCHA services can be useful, but they are not always the best first step for a login form. They may add extra clicks, third-party scripts, or visible challenges that slow down legitimate users. Honeypot protection works quietly in the background. For normal users, the login experience remains unchanged. They request a magic link exactly as before. For suspicious requests, Magic Login can block the request before sending a login email. Reduced Account Enumeration Signals Magic Login 2.8 also improves how suspicious login link requests are handled. When a suspicious login request is detected, Magic Login can return a generic success-style response instead of exposing whether a matching user account exists. This helps reduce account enumeration signals while also limiting unnecessary login emails. In short: real users get a smooth login flow, while automated submissions receive less useful feedback. Magic Login Pro: Registration Coverage Magic Login Pro 2.8 extends honeypot protection beyond login requests. In Pro, the native honeypot layer also covers registration flows, making it useful for sites that allow front-end signups, membership access, WooCommerce customer workflows, or other public authentication entry points. Magic Login Pro already supports stronger spam protection options such as reCAPTCHA, Cloudflare Turnstile, and Friendly Captcha. Honeypot protection adds a native, no-CAPTCHA option that can be used as a lightweight protection layer. Developer Configuration Developers can adjust the honeypot timing rules with the magic_login_honeypot_config filter. By default, Magic Login checks for submissions that happen too quickly or after the form payload has become too old. Default values: Minimum form age: 2 seconds Maximum form age: 1 hour Example: add_filter( 'magic_login_honeypot_config', function ( $config ) { $config['min_render_age'] = 3; $config['max_render_age'] = 30 * MINUTE_IN_SECONDS; return $config; } ); These defaults should work well for most sites, but the filter is available for advanced setups. Better Test Coverage Alongside the new protection layer, Magic Login 2.8 adds focused test coverage for honeypot validation. The tests cover valid submissions, filled honeypot fields, too-fast submissions, expired payloads, invalid code login requests, and Pro registration validation. This helps keep the new security layer predictable as Magic Login continues to evolve. How to Enable Honeypot Protection After updating to Magic Login 2.8: Go to your WordPress admin dashboard. Open Magic Login > Settings. Go to the Spam Protection section. Enable Honeypot Protection. Save your settings. No API key or external account is required. Easier Spam Protection for Magic Login Magic Login 2.8 makes spam protection easier for passwordless WordPress login forms. With the new native honeypot option, site owners can add a quiet protection layer without setting up an external service or changing the experience for real users. After updating to Magic Login 2.8, you can enable Honeypot Protection from the Spam Protection settings. It is lightweight, requires no external setup, and helps reduce unwanted automated requests while keeping the passwordless login flow smooth for real users. #### Magic Login Pro 1.4 – User Specific Control Magic Login Pro 1.4 is out today! This release brings new features. Disable Magic Login for a User Now you can control whether a particular user can log in with a magic login link or not. If you want to block a user from login with the magic login link, navigate to the user profile and check the “Disable magic login for this user” option. That’s it! Generate Magic Login Link from Profile With Magic Login Pro 1.4, it’s easier to create login links for the users without using CLI. Sometimes, it’s handy to share login links from different channels. (especially if you have an email delivery issue) Such these cases, you can create the login link and share it directly with the user. In order to use these new features, the logged-in user needs to have “edit_users” capability by default. You can control the behaviour through “magic_login_current_user_can_control_user”. That’s all for this release. I hope you like the new user-focused new features 🙂 #### Magic Login PRO 2.5 – QR Code Login for WordPress and New Tools We’re excited to introduce Magic Login PRO 2.5, a major release that brings powerful new features to enhance your passwordless authentication workflow. At the heart of this update is QR Code Login for WordPress — making it easier than ever for users to log in by simply scanning a code. This version also adds a brand new Tools section for exporting, importing, and resetting plugin settings, expanded WP-CLI and REST API capabilities, and improvements that make user management and onboarding even more flexible. Whether you’re creating secure, frictionless login flows for members, teams, or customers, Magic Login PRO 2.5 delivers meaningful upgrades in usability, control, and developer experience. QR Code Login for WordPress – A Simpler Way to Sign In Magic Login PRO 2.5 introduces QR Code Login for WordPress, giving users an even faster and more intuitive way to sign in without typing passwords. Just like {{MAGIC_LINK}}, you can now use {{MAGIC_LOGIN_QR}} or {{MAGIC_LOGIN_QR_IMG}} placeholders in outgoing emails to include a scannable QR version of the login link. It works out of the box with Magic Login emails and is compatible with most WordPress email systems, including WooCommerce and CRM tools that rely on wp_mail(). Thanks to these placeholders, adding QR Code Login for WordPress to your email workflows takes just seconds. This makes login possible with just a quick scan, no clicks required — ideal for users who prefer using their mobile device to authenticate. If you want to display a static QR code pointing to any URL on your site, you can also use the magic_login_qr shortcode. While it’s not directly tied to the login process, it’s a handy way to include a QR code on a page — for example, linking to a welcome page, onboarding flow, or external form. Tools Section – Export, Import, and Reset Settings We’ve added a new Tools section to help you manage your plugin configuration more effectively. You can now: Export all plugin settings as a .json file (with optional license and sensitive data) Import settings into another site or environment Reset plugin settings, license info, or all user tokens with a single click This is especially useful for agencies and developers managing multiple environments or staging-to-production workflows. (Tools section is also part of free version of the Magic Login). New Features for Better User Management Purge Login Links As an admin, you can now delete all active login tokens for a specific user — directly from their user profile page. Useful for: Revoking access Resetting logins during support Security-sensitive environments Registration Redirect After a user completes registration, you can now automatically redirect them to a custom page — such as a welcome dashboard, onboarding guide, or upsell flow. This works with standard registration mode and shortcode-based forms. Developer-Focused Improvements Expanded WP-CLI Support We’ve added new WP-CLI commands to: Generate QR codes for login links Export, import, or reset plugin settings Bulk-create login links based on user roles These tools help automate deployments and streamline development workflows. REST API Enhancements The /magic-login/v1/token endpoint now supports: qr: Returns the QR code URL qr_img: Returns a full <img> tag for embedding This makes it easier to integrate Magic Login with mobile apps, external UIs, or headless frontends. New: Hooks Documentation We now provide a full list of actions and filters available in Magic Login. If you’re extending the plugin — customizing login behavior, modifying UI, or integrating with third-party tools — this new reference is for you. This update focuses on flexibility, user-friendly design, and more control over authentication — especially for sites using Elementor or managing users with unique login needs. Build Seamless Login & Registration Forms with Elementor With Magic Login PRO 2.6, you can now add Magic Login and Registration forms as Elementor widgets, no need to manually place shortcodes. These widgets work similarly to our shortcode implementation behind the scenes, ensuring compatibility, but now you get real-time previews and easier customization directly inside Elementor. This approach gives you more flexibility to style, position, and configure your login and registration forms while instantly seeing how they’ll appear on your site. We’re continuing to refine this integration, so we’d love your feedback to make it even more powerful in upcoming releases. Send Login Links Directly from User Profiles Need to send a one-click login link to a specific user? Now you can. From the WordPress User Profile screen, admins can send login links instantly — a handy tool for support teams or membership sites. Fine-Tuned Control Over Token Expiration This release also introduces the ability to override TTL (time-to-live) and token validity on a per-user basis. Whether you want longer-lasting tokens for trusted admins or shorter ones for high-security accounts, you now have granular control. Under the Hood Improvements Beyond these headline features, Magic Login PRO 2.6 includes several under-the-hood updates to keep things running smoothly: Input field names have been updated to prevent conflicts with Cloudflare Turnstile. This latest update includes a number of improvements and bug fixes to enhance the user experience and ensure compatibility with PHP 8.1. UI Improvement on Default Login Page We have improved the user interface and user experience on the default login screen. It’s easier to understand when choosing a standard login or just getting a login link. Another important change in this release is the inclusion of internationalization (i18n) improvements, which have been made thanks to the contributions of @emreerkan. These changes will make it easier for users around the world to use Magic Login, and contribute the translations on WordPress.org Here are the changes: PHP 8.1: fix deprecated ‘FILTER_SANITIZE_STRING’ UI/UX improvements on default login screen i18n improvements. Fix: profile page js error on multisite. (Magic Login Pro only) Fix: standard WordPress redirect functionality. Fix: Skip the auto-login link for the magic login itself. Fix: Send email only once. Overall, Magic Login version 1.7 is a significant update that brings a range of improvements and bug fixes to enhance the user experience. We encourage all users to upgrade to the latest version as soon as possible to take advantage of these new features and improvements. #### Magic Login v1.8: Token Validity I’m happy to announce a new release of Magic Login and Magic Login PRO. This release comes with the most requested feature; “token validity”. Magic Login is our popular WordPress plugin that allows users to log in to their accounts without the need for a password. Instead, the plugin sends a one-time login link to the user’s email address, which they can use to access their account. One limitation of this approach, however, is that the login link is only valid for a single use. Once the user clicks the link and logs in, the link becomes invalid, and they need to request a new one if they want to log in again. This limitation has been a source of frustration for some of our users, especially for the ones who use link checkers or antivirus for their inboxes. For instance, when your inbox checks all the links to ensure it’s safe, it basically simulates your link-clicking behavior; therefore, the login link becomes expired. And another problem is that when you tap on the link too long on the mobile device, it just opens the preview and it invalidates the link automatically. With the release of Magic Login v1.8, this limitation has been addressed with the introduction of token validity. Token Validity Token validity is a new feature that allows users to use the login link more than once. Essentially, it allows the link to remain valid for a specified period of time for a specified validity count. This means that users can log in and out of their accounts multiple times using the same link, as long as they do so within the specified time frame. In order to remove the limit, you can enter 0 as token validity. In that case, the login link can be used until it hits the token expiration time. This is a highly requested feature that will make the Magic Login plugin even more user-friendly and convenient. You can check out the documentation to learn more about token validity. Improvements on the default login screen Sometimes, it causes misunderstanding when a user fills in the email address or username and just clicks on to “Send me the login link” button. With version 1.8, if the user input has been filled in, the login will be sent directly without asking username or email address in the next step. The old behavior persists and acts as a link when a user just clicks on the button. Also, all the input fields now support autocomplete. German Language Packages and i18n Improvements The German language pack is ready and shipped with the plugin. The package was generated with community contribution; if you see any error feel free to reach out. You can also customize or maintain your version of the language pack by using Loco Translate. We made some tooling changes when generating the language pack and JSON file for the translating strings in JS. I hope you like the new version 🙂 #### Magic Login v1.9: Magic of AJAX and A New CLI Command We are excited to roll out the latest and greatest version of our Magic Login and Magic Login PRO – Version 1.9. We’ve been hard at work on this latest iteration, implementing exciting new features and enhancements that we are eager to share. Bringing the Magic of AJAX to Login Request Links In the spirit of continually improving our user experience, we’re thrilled to introduce AJAX support for login request links in both the free and PRO versions of Magic Login. With this upgrade, your website’s performance will reach new heights of efficiency. In order to use AJAX feature, you just need to activate the feature on settings page. CLI Command for Tokens in Magic Login PRO For our PRO users, we’re proud to introduce a new feature that streamlines token management like never before. In version 1.9, we’ve added a new CLI command to generate tokens and send them in a bulk fashion. Whether you’re running a large organization or a small team, this new feature makes it easier than ever to manage your authentication tokens. With the ability to generate and send tokens in bulk via the command line, you can effortlessly secure your platform and enhance your operational efficiency. Examples: wp magic-login bulk-create –format=table Create login links and show in tabular format in CLI. wp magic-login bulk-create –format=yaml –role=subscriber –send Create magic login links for subscribers and send the login emails wp magic-login create admin –count=2 –send Also, existing “create” command now supports –send argument, which will send the latest generated link to the user. You can learn more by simply running: `wp help magic-login bulk-create` Elevating PHP Requirement to Version 7.2+ As part of our commitment to staying updated with the latest technology trends and security standards, Magic Login and Magic Login PRO now require PHP version 7.2 or higher. This update aligns with our ongoing efforts to ensure that our product offers the best possible performance and security for our users. Before updating to Version 1.9, make sure your server supports PHP 7.2 or higher. This will help ensure a seamless transition and a continued smooth operation of Magic Login. Wrapping Up These new additions demonstrate our continued commitment to providing our users with the most efficient, user-friendly, and secure login experience. We always strive to stay at the forefront of technology and listen to our community’s needs and feedback. We hope you find these updates as exciting as we do. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on Magic Login and Magic Login PRO version 1.9 and are always here for any questions you might have. Onward to more magical logins! 🙂 #### Magic Login: Passwordless authentication for WordPress I’m excited to announce Magic Login today. It’s a passwordless authentication plugin for WordPress. How does it work? Magic login uses a technique called “magic links”. The magic link is a unique link sent directly to your email inbox which allows to authenticate you once. Even you don’t use the links for the authentication, it will expire (depends on your configuration) Free vs Pro The free edition of the plugin is also available on the official WP plugin directory, and it works without problem in terms of authentication. However, if you need advanced features such as brute force protection, customizing login emails, setting up redirection rules, WP-CLI support… you might want to choose the pro version. Feel free to leave me a comment if you have any questions. Cheers, #### PaddlePress 1.1: Happy Sandboxing PaddlePress Pro and HandyPlugins PaddlePress 1.1 is out today! This release comes with a lot of goodies and fixes. Paddle Sandbox Testing the integration with Paddle has been a bit tricky. We used to test with simulating webhooks but it wasn’t easy to set it up and properly test with the UI. Thankfully, Paddle has announced their sandbox environment recently, and we are happy to add sandbox support to PaddlePress with version 1.1. In orter to test your integratin with sandbox; Create your sandbox account https://developer.paddle.com/getting-started/sandboxEnter cretendials into the PaddlePress and activate the sandbox mode. That’s all! Logging PaddlePress 1.1 comes with a built-in logging feature. It helps us to inspect webhook request handling. Since the logs can include PII data, we only recommend it to enable on sandbox environment and clear the existing logs once the inspection has completed. Improvements Added locking mechanism to webhook handling. Also, PaddlePress returns HTTP error code for particular edge-cases. (e.g if it fails the user creation)Membership area improvements: Paddle widget will be initialized directly on the membership area for cancellation and payment update actions. Also, don’t display cancellation and payment update buttons when the condition is not suitable.Settings UI improvements: the active tab won’t be lost after saving the settings from the dashboard.Send emails in HTML format. It gives the ability to customize email templates. Fixes Plan upgrade/downgrade API call and the logic. (Eg. dont’ display change plan button for the trial plans)The global $post object in metabox.Payment table ordering.Shortcode fixes: Pass user_id and email to Paddle, for logged-in users.Permission check on the auto-update endpoint. The update will appear within your WordPress dashboard in the next 12 hours. Let us know if you see any problems. #### PaddlePress 1.2: Custom Redirects for A Better Follow PaddlePress 1.2 has been released. In this release, we are happy to introduce custom redirections for certain events and brand new shortcode to providing access to parsed readme files. Add redirections for certain events  Paddle supports custom data-success attribution where acceptable (ref). Basically, it allows redirecting users to specified addresses once the event successfully occurred. We made these integrations easy with custom settings. You can enter a target URL for when a subscription downgraded/upgraded, cancelled or payment method changed. The overlay checkout keeps the user on the same page by default and that behavior won’t be changed if you leave redirection URLs blank. These types of redirects would be helpful to retain your customer’s membership and helps to provide a better follow. You might wanna add a fancy page for the plan upgrade/downgrade and explain the differences between subscriptions. Or you can convenience your customers to subscribe again on the cancellation page. A New Shortcode: Easy access to Readme If you are using PaddlePress Pro for selling premium plugins/themes this feature would be useful. For example, let’s say you wanted to show the changelogs on the product page when you release a new version of your product. Something like: [paddlepress_download_info download_tag="your-download-tag" beta="false" sections="changelog"] will return the changelog section from readme file. Currently, it fetches this information from the latest version of the product and if you don’t provide a particular section, the entire sections will be returning.Entire Changelog: (yep, we are using shortcode here too) 2.7.2 (August 18, 2026) Improved: Clarified the subscription.canceled event description for emails. Client-Side Token Support for Paddle Billing To enhance the security and usability of PaddlePress for WordPress users, we have incorporated the newly introduced client-side tokens from Paddle. This means there’s no longer a need to use your seller ID when setting up Paddle.js. Instead, you can now authenticate using a client-side token, which is designed specifically for front-end interactions on your WordPress site. Paddle’s latest update is already in effect, so PaddlePress users can benefit from these enhancements immediately as the Paddle.js served is the most recent version. (it only works for the Paddle Billing platform; Paddle Classic continues to work as the same before) Learn more about client-side tokens. Enhanced User Experience with New Shortcode Parameter Customize your user’s account page with ease. The new shortcode parameter allows you to hide the downloads or purchases tab based on your preference. For example, use ... hide="downloads" ] attribute to hide downloads tab on “my accounts” page. You can learn more about “my accounts” page customizations. – https://handyplugins.co/paddlepress-pro/docs/customer-dashboard-my-account-page/ Bug Fix and Stability Improvements We’ve squashed a bug causing a fatal type error that’s now a thing of the past. Stay up to date with the latest practices; we’ve also rolled out updates to dependencies ensuring improved plugin performance and compatibility. Ready to Retain More Subscribers? Archiviable Downloads You can archive downloadable items, by using bulk actions or just simply clicking to “archive” action on the post listing screen. This is feature would be useful especially if you are selling software since we always want to customers install the most recent version. Custom Welcome Email In order to provide better onboarding (especially when you are running a membership site) we added a brand new email template. WordPress sends password reset links by default for a good reason however, sometimes it can be tricky to set up a new password by the non-tech savvy folks. With the placeholders, you can freely customize the email and guide your customers. The new version includes a couple of improvements under the hood besides these new features. Here are detailed changes: Fix: creating protected directory on Apache serversAdd lost password link to the login form.Better handling expired subscriptions.Improved logging (log when signature validation fails)New post status: downloadable items can be archived now.Automatic username generation improvements. (use an email address when it’s valid)Registration email customization for better onboarding. #### PaddlePress Pro 1.4: Where the Users Go After Checkout We’re excited to announce PaddlePress Pro 1.4, it’s easy to “set where the users go after checkout” in this version. Since we use Paddle Overlay checkout, it displays a success message in the pop-up. However, sometimes it is necessary to take your customers to a custom page and thank them. (or maybe you will customize/add some guidance there). In order to give more flexibility to customer experience, now you can take the customers to a custom page. There are two ways to do that; Set a global success page under PaddlePress > Settings > Preferencespass data-success attribute to target page for the paddlepress shortcode. You can follow the guide here – https://handyplugins.co/paddlepress-pro/docs/custom-redirect-after-successful-checkout/ We hope these new features will help you to provide a seamless checkout experience for your customers. #### PaddlePress Pro 1.5: Measure Conversion PaddlePress Pro 1.5 is out today! This new release makes the conversion measurements easier. We have added a new option for being able to pass a custom event callback during the setup of Paddle js. You can easily measure the conversion with this new version. We also added a new filter to the customized setup script. You can use paddlepress_paddle_script filter. Hope you like the new release 🙂 PS: You will need unfiltered_html capability to pass a custom function as an event callback. #### PaddlePress Pro 2.3: New Account Management and Subscription Features I’m excited to announce the release of PaddlePress Pro version 2.3, packed with new features and improvements designed to enhance your experience. This update focuses on providing more control over account management and subscription options, along with several other enhancements and bug fixes. Here’s a detailed look at what’s new: Account Details Tab on My Accounts Page In my ongoing effort to make account management more intuitive and user-friendly, I’ve added a new Account Details tab to the My Accounts page. This tab consolidates all your account information in one place, making it easier for you to access and manage your details. This new tab is heavily inspired by the WooCommerce’ account page and also measures password strength when customers want to update their passwords. If you don’t want to show “Account details” you can simply hide it by passing hide="account-details" as shortcode attribute. Restrict Customer Access to WP Admin With new account details management directly from the frontend, there’s no reason for your customers to update their profile from the WordPress dashboard. Now, you have the option to control this behavior and restrict their access to the WordPress dashboard. Customers can manage their accounts entirely from the frontend, ensuring a smoother experience. (This feature also removes WP Admin bar from the users who don’t have edit_posts capability) Note: This feature is not enabled in this version, but be prepared, as it may become the default behavior in future releases. Subscription Cancellation and Pause/Resume Options I understand that flexibility is crucial for managing subscriptions. With this update, PaddlePress Pro has new options that allow customers to cancel or pause/resume their subscriptions. For instance, you disable self service account cancellation feature for the customers and take them to a cancellation request form to gather more feedback about the cancellation. Learn more on our docs. Note: Subscription Pause/Resume features only supported on Paddle Billing platform, not paddle classic. New Hooks for Customizing Payment Actions For developers looking to customize payment processes, PaddlePress Pro now has new paddlepress_my_account_before_payment_action and paddlepress_my_account_after_payment_action hooks. These hooks provide more flexibility and control, enabling developers to tailor payment actions to better suit their needs. Under the Hood Dependencies with Own Namespace To improve code management and avoid conflicts, I’ve made changes to how dependencies are integrated with the plugin. These updates ensure better compatibility and maintainability of the code. Bug Fixes and Updates Added: New class attribute for the shortcode to customize the button. Fixed: An issue where masked strings were not saving properly. This bug fix ensures that all masked data is correctly stored. Updated: Dependencies. Changed: Made the download taxonomy private. This update marks a significant step forward in improving the user experience and providing more robust account and subscription management features. I’m committed to continually enhancing the plugin to make it easier to sell WordPress plugins and themes through Paddle, and I look forward to your feedback on these new features Make sure to update to PaddlePress Pro version 2.3 to take advantage of all these improvements! #### PaddlePress PRO 2.4: Screen Options, Filters, and Domain Blocking I’m thrilled to announce the release of PaddlePress PRO 2.4, packed with powerful new features, key improvements, and various enhancements to make managing your subscriptions, payments, and licenses even more seamless. You can now search the payments table using partial email addresses, making it faster to locate payments without needing the full details. 🛠 Product-Based Filtering for Payments Table We’ve introduced product-based filtering to the payments table, making it easier than ever to analyze your revenue by specific products. Now, with just a click on the product, you can instantly filter transactions, allowing you to focus on key products or pricing variations. This feature is especially useful if you’re managing multiple products or different price tiers, giving you greater insight into performance and trends with minimal effort. 🆕 New Screen Options for Membership and Downloads Tables Managing your data has never been more customizable. In the membership list table, you can now toggle the visibility of Products (or prices if you are using Paddle Billing), Payment Count (total count in the payments table regardless of the payments status), and Domain Count columns, offering a more tailored view. You can use paddlepress_payment_count_for_membership_sql and paddlepress_domain_count_for_membership_sql filters if need to customize those queries that does the calculations. To ensure your data stays up to date without adding complexity, we’ve introduced a cron job that automatically recalculates payment counts and domain counts twice daily. However, if you need the most recent data right away, you can always click the “Sync Data” button to instantly refresh and apply the latest updates. Similarly, in the downloads list table, new options include the ability to show Access, Download, and Version columns. 🚫 Domain Blocking for License Activation PaddlePress PRO 2.4 introduces the ability to block specific domains from activating licenses. This is a powerful tool to prevent unauthorized or inappropriate license activations, giving you more control over your licenses. Improvements and Fixes ⚙️ Deactivation Logic for Local/Dev Domains We’ve enhanced the deactivation logic to better handle local and development domains, improving the experience for developers testing licenses in these environments. 🛠 Redundant API Request Fix On the My Account page, a redundant API request to the billing platform was causing unnecessary delays. This has been resolved for a smoother and faster user experience. 🔄 Updated Dependencies We’ve also taken care of the usual housekeeping by updating the plugin’s dependencies to keep everything running smoothly. This update marks another significant step in enhancing the user experience and providing even more powerful tools for managing accounts and subscriptions. I’m committed to continually refining the plugin to make selling WordPress plugins and themes through Paddle as seamless as possible. Your feedback plays a vital role in shaping PaddlePress, and I truly appreciate all the insights shared by our customers to help improve the product for everyone. Make sure to upgrade to PaddlePress PRO 2.4 to take full advantage of these latest features and improvements! #### PaddlePress PRO 2.6 – Composer Support for WordPress Plugins and Themes PaddlePress PRO 2.6 is now available, introducing Composer support for WordPress plugins and themes, along with smarter automation, performance tweaks, and developer-focused enhancements for distributing licensed WordPress products. 🔧 Composer Support for WordPress Plugins and Themes You can now distribute your WordPress plugins and themes via Composer, with full license validation and versioned update control. The new Composer endpoint supports per-package authentication using license-key and license-url headers — ideal for private deployments, CI/CD workflows, and agency-grade automation. 👉 View the Composer setup guide for detailed instructions. 🛡️ Rate Limiting for API Requests PaddlePress now supports rate limiting for API requests to help reduce unnecessary traffic and improve stability. It’s a standalone plugin that integrates with Paddle through your WordPress site. I didn’t plan it to be a swiss-army knife. So, it focuses on two problems and solves them properly. 1) Membership Content If you want to restrict your content to paid users, you can do that. Follow-up our guide here. WordPress has already well-known membership solutions however when it comes to Paddle integration, most of them don’t have such that feature. You can restrict any public post type with PaddlePress, plus it has built-in Downloads providing protected downloads functionality. 2) WordPress products PaddlePress Pro allows you to sell WordPress plugins and themes exclusively. It provides the auto-update and license checking mechanisms out of the box. Checkout our detailed guide to learn to sell WordPress products on your website. WordPress has well-known marketplaces; however, marketplace cut-offs are insane. Also, they don’t really consider auto-update functionalities when it comes to shipping the updates. Why Paddle? I’ve been selling digital products through Paddle since 2017. I was really impressed once I found Paddle. Their “Spend time building, not billing” approach is really a lifesaver for indie makers or small companies. For example, this is really all I want to know in regards tax settings, and Paddle takes care of all the burden, regulation changes, being compliant, payment security etc.. As a rule of thumb, good products solve problems. We’ve made PaddlePress solve our problem in the first place, and perhaps, it can solve yours too. If you have a product that is allowed to be sold on Paddle, and don’t want to spin your wheels on the problems that we already solved with PaddlePress, just give it a try. PS: Free edition of the plugin available on WordPress plugin directory. Cheers, #### Revolutionize Your Writing Experience with Handywriter 1.2: Bringing ChatGPT to WordPress I’m happy to announce a new release of Handywriter and the recent changes behind the service. Bringing ChatGPT Capabilities into WordPress The one of the most important change is that now we have updated the language model behind our service. Our services now uses “gpt-3.5-turbo” model that introduced by OpenAI. This model provides more accurate and natural language processing, resulting in better performance and customer satisfaction. It’s revolutionizing the blogging experience and bringing ChatGPT to WordPress. With its seamless integration, bloggers can now easily access ChatGPT’s powerful AI writing assistant directly within the editor. Multilingual Great news! With the release of Handywriter’s ability to speak multiple languages, users can now benefit from the large training model under ChatGPT to improve their writing in their native language. This is a significant step towards providing a more inclusive and accessible writing tool for people from different linguistic backgrounds. The default language setting for Handywriter is American English, but you can easily change this setting and select your preferred language. PS: Our proofreading service only supports English, German, Spanish, French, and Dutch for now. Doubling-Down The recent ChatGPT model has allowed us to provide a more cost-effective solution for our users, which in turn, can help them generate more content. The number of credits is the same, but we changed the calculation formula that we used when generating content. Now, you can generate 50k words of content with a starter plan (it used to be ~30k before) PlanBeforeAfterStarter~30k Words~60k WordsPro~75k Words~150k WordsBusiness~300k Words~600k Words The release of Handywriter 1.2 is a significant milestone for us, as it brings new capabilities that will enhance the writing experience for WordPress users. With the integration of ChatGPT, users can benefit from the power of advanced language models within their WordPress editor, allowing them to create high-quality content easily. Additionally, the support for multiple languages will enable users to write in their native language, making the plugin more accessible and inclusive. Finally, doubling down on the writing limit at the same price is a great value proposition for users, allowing them to create more content without worrying about exceeding their limits. These new features make Handywriter a must-have tool for anyone looking to improve their writing in WordPress. If you haven’t tried Handywriter yet, just give it a try. #### Unagi: A new way to get rid of WordPress nags I’m happy to announce our new plugin, “Unagi” today. It’s a zero-config, zero-dependency plugin that allows to remove all notifications and show them under the “notifications” page. Before After Notifications screen – demo I think admin_notices is the most abused WordPress hook, ever. WP devs (including myself) often misuse this action and adds a bunch of annoying notifications. In fact, sometimes it’s not even possible to see the dashboard at first glance. So, I had a rough idea about the taking WP dashboard back from these notifications and made a plugin called, “unagi”. How does it work? It buffers all the output that hooked into admin_notices action and then displays it within a dedicated notification page. It does some parsing stuff under the hood but this is roughly how it works. I had a second thought on this approach a bit after I sent it to WordPress.org review. Perhaps, it would be better to keep these notifications in the browser and show them on the notifications page. Bright future with “WP Notify” I think the notification project – https://make.wordpress.org/core/tag/feature-notifications/ will save us from this pain in the neck situation soon. (Huge props to everyone involved in that project.) Unagi – “It’s not something you are , it’s something you have.” I hope you find it useful 🤞🏼 You can download it from https://wordpress.org/plugins/unagi/ or add it as a composer dependency. #### WP Total Branding Today, I’m excited to announcing WP Total Branding, it’s the first product of HandyPlugins and totally free 🙂 If you are looking for branding solution, this plugin will save your hours of development time. Founder & Developer Magic Login FAQ What is passwordless authentication? Passwordless authentication is an authentication method in which a user can log in to a computer system without entering (and remembering) a password. Are the magic links secure? Yes! In fact, we thought this is more secure than the regular login due to most of the users are using weak passwords. Since magic login generates a random token for a limited time frame it makes the links quite strong and secure. When do login links expire? It expires in 5 minutes by default. You can change TTL under the “Token Lifespan” on the settings page. Enter “0” to disable automatic expiration. Why am I not getting login links? Magic Login uses WordPress built-in mail functions. So, it depends on your configuration. We highly recommend to use an SMTP service for better email delivery. How can I use a passwordless login form on any page? I fully recommend PaddlePress!Dr. Achim Kleinfounder of CryptoCaptain.com We needed a solution to sell our plugin and provide customers with automatic updates and pro features enabled via a license key. If for any reason you’re not completely satisfied with the plugin, you’re entitled to a full refund up to 14 days from your original purchase. Founder & Developer SessionQuota Pro FAQ What’s the difference between the free version and PRO? The free version allows you to set a global session limit for all users and choose a basic enforcement mode. SessionQuota PRO adds advanced session control features such as role-based limits, membership plugin integration, per-user overrides, security logging, activity alerts, bulk session management, Multisite support, and WP-CLI commands. If you only need a simple global limit, the free version may be enough. If you need granular control and visibility, PRO is designed for that. Does this prevent account sharing? SessionQuota PRO enforces concurrent session limits based on the rules you define. When limits are exceeded, the plugin applies the selected enforcement mode (for example, blocking new logins or terminating older sessions). This helps reduce account sharing by controlling how many active sessions are allowed at the same time. Which membership plugins are supported? SessionQuota PRO integrates with popular membership plugins, including MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro and Ultimate Member. Limits can be applied based on membership levels, allowing you to control access rules more precisely for different user groups. What happens when the session limit is exceeded? For most users, nothing changes as long as they stay within the allowed session limit. The plugin only takes action when the configured limit is exceeded. Enforcement is predictable and based entirely on the rules you define. What does Security Logging & Monitoring include? SessionQuota PRO can log session-related events such as logins, blocks, and forced terminations. Optional logging for IP address, device information, and country detection is available. You can also configure activity alerts to stay informed when session limits are triggered. All logging features are configurable. What happens if I don’t renew my license? If your license expires, the plugin will continue to function on your site. However, you will no longer receive updates or support until the license is renewed. Founder & Developer Stream Integration Pro FAQ Do I need to upload videos in Cloudflare first? No. You can upload videos directly from the WordPress Media Library and let Stream Integration Pro send them to Cloudflare Stream for you. If you already have videos in Cloudflare Stream, you can also import them into WordPress later. Can I keep both local and Cloudflare Stream copies? Yes. You can use a hybrid setup where the WordPress file and the Cloudflare Stream copy both exist at the same time. This is useful if you want the safety of a local file while still delivering video through Stream. Can I remove the local WordPress file after uploading to Stream? Yes. Once a video has been uploaded to Cloudflare Stream, you can delete the local file and keep the attachment connected to Stream only. This helps reduce disk usage while keeping the video manageable from WordPress. What happens if a local file is missing? If the video is still available in Cloudflare Stream, you can restore a local copy back into WordPress. The plugin is designed to make that recovery workflow straightforward instead of forcing you to recreate the media item manually. Will this create duplicate media items in WordPress? No. The plugin is designed to keep everything tied to a single attachment whenever possible. Uploading to Stream, restoring a local copy, or syncing metadata should not create unnecessary duplicate media entries. Does it work with the WordPress Media Library? Yes. That is one of the main goals of the plugin. You can manage upload, sync, restore, cleanup, and Stream-related actions directly from the Media Library and attachment details screens. Does it work with the Block Editor? Yes. You can use the plugin inside the Block Editor and keep a Stream-based video workflow without leaving the normal WordPress editing experience. Does it work with Classic Editor and shortcodes? Yes. The plugin supports classic WordPress workflows as well, including shortcode-based embedding where needed. Can I use videos that already exist in Cloudflare Stream? Yes. Videos that already exist in Cloudflare Stream can be imported into WordPress so they become manageable from the Media Library. You can also use WP-CLI for import and sync workflows. Does it support WP-CLI? Yes. WP-CLI commands are available for import, upload, offload, download, sync, and status workflows. This is useful for bulk operations, automation, and power-user workflows. Does it support Multisite? Yes. The plugin supports Multisite. In network-activated setups, the network administrator can manage credentials, licensing, and shared defaults, while individual sites continue using Stream features inside their own Media Library workflows. Can I bulk clean up local files or Stream copies? Yes. The plugin includes cleanup tools for intentional bulk operations. These tools are designed for controlled cleanup workflows and make it clear what will be removed before you run the action. What happens if my license expires? The plugin will continue to work on your site, but you will no longer receive new updates or support until the license is renewed. Make WordPress video management feel native again! FAST & DURABLEEngineered for peak performance, Wonder Cache leverages server disk space for caching, enhancing your site’s speed and resilience. By serving pre-generated pages, it efficiently handles surges in traffic, ensuring your site remains fast and responsive under any conditions. SimplicityWonder Cache stands out for its ease of use. With no settings page or complex configurations to navigate, it offers a plug-and-play solution that works seamlessly from the moment of installation. Experience the power of simplicity—just activate and improve your site’s performance instantly. Compatible with MultisiteWonder Cache is fully optimized for WordPress multisite networks, providing robust caching solutions across your entire network without any additional tweaks. FAQ Why should I choose Wonder Cache over other caching plugins? Wonder Cache stands out for its simplicity and seamless multisite compatibility. It’s ideal if you prefer a plug-and-play solution with no settings to configure. Particularly suited for multisite environments on shared hosting or where persistent object caching isn’t available, Wonder Cache offers an efficient, straightforward caching experience. Give it a try and notice the difference! Isn’t Wonder Cache the same as Batcache? While Wonder Cache is a fork of Batcache and serves a similar purpose, there is a key difference. Batcache relies on a persistent object cache backend to function. In contrast, Wonder Cache is designed to use server disk space for caching. This makes it especially suitable for environments where persistent object caching is not available, offering a robust alternative. Which is better, Batcache or Wonder Cache? The better choice depends on your hosting environment. If you’re running your website across multiple servers and can configure a Memcached pool, Batcache is the ideal choice due to its reliance on a persistent object cache backend. On the other hand, if you are operating on a single server or shared hosting with limited memory availability, Wonder Cache is recommended. It uses server disk space for caching, which is more suitable for such setups. Is Wonder Cache the fastest caching solution? No, Wonder Cache is not the fastest solution available. If you have the capability to configure your server, consider using Varnish for superior performance. For those with server management skills, nginx micro caching or page caching (like Powered Cache, which supports Apache rewrite rules) are also excellent options. Remember, adding more complex tools to your setup comes with trade-offs, so choose based on your ability to manage and maintain these configurations Need help? Get in touch; we will be happy to help!
